  • April 30, 2006 My favorite piano book

Just like the other reviews, this book has been the one I play out of the most for the last 10 years. I never get tired of the pieces and I can always find one out of this book to match the mood I'm in. Plus, these pieces just...

sound good. There is a lot of flash, speed, and volume in them. They are always crowd-pleasers.

  • January 07, 2006 Finally found it!

I have been looking and looking for this book ever since I first picked it up as a young teenager. It was my most beloved music book, and I lost it for years and never bothered to find it again while my musicianship when on the backburner. Now that it...

's on the front burner again, I couldn't wait to find the book that held so many memories and beautiful pieces of music. Jean Sibelius's "romance", Edvard Grieg's, "wedding day at Troldhaugen" and Pieczonka's "Tarentella" are by far my favorite pieces I have ever played. I guarantee any pianist will love this book.

  • January 15, 2005 One of my favorite compilations ever

Although I now work on Liszt's pieces, this compilation of fast, fun, and impressive little pieces is still the book I play most often, and my copy is now mangled with use. Some, like Sibelius's "Romance", are powerful and grand, while others, like Villa-Lobos's "O Polichinelo...

", are quirky and frenetic, but all of them are challenging and rewarding, and since they average about 5 pages in length, they can all be learned rather quickly (although MacDowell's "Hungarian" is by far the hardest piece). A must for all piano lovers!
