Piano Revival
I had 6 years of piano in grade school. I’ve just finished 4 yrs. Of accordion. Now I am trying to revive my piano past—on an electronic keyboard. This series looks pretty good to refresh my memory.

AWFUL music CDs!!
The written music, theory, lessons, and songs are very comprehensive. I had the book already and then ordered the CDs to guide me further. What a huge disappointment! The songs are played with lots of interference such as weird drum, horn and other sounds and don't even sound like a piano playing!! I want to return it and get my money back. I only hope Alfred's will honor that request.

All in One is a great title
This book is really fantastic. It is taking me (a novice player) to a new comfort zone because it walks through each step of theory along with the practice tunes. My goal is to be able to jam off of a lead sheet, in order to accompany a church choir and a (contra) dance band. I, IV, and VII make sense to me now. Book One goes through C, F, and G7 as well as G, C, and D7 with lots of fun blues and other selections. I'm teaching myself, so I really appreciate the thorough breakdowns.

Needs revisions for adults
While the theory 'build' w/ chord progression and meter is intuitive, the concept introduction will be boring to most adults with very elementary 'lyrics' etc.

Highly recommend to adults returning to the piano
Bought this to send to my sister who's returning to piano now that she's retired. I found it so helpful when I was at that point - for review & self-instruction when getting back to playing, years after I'd taken lessons as a kid. I recommend the entire series. Great that they include theory, as well. I progressed through Books 2 & 3 as well, have now gone beyond and study with a teacher. I also sent my sister Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course - Greatest Hits Book (Level 1) & Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course - Christmas Hits (Level 1). Both fun to play, sound good & supplement the Basic Course. I still play the Christmas Hits every year - Books 1 & 2!

Great advanced beginners book.
Haven't spent that much time yet with it. But the beginning was very encouraging: good explanations of theory, emphasis on practicing. Good exercises.I am ready to tackle it.

Best Adult Teaching Book Around
All of the Alfred Adult Levels 1-3 are excellent for teens and older. As an independent Hit recording artist and piano teacher, teaching for 20 years, this book moves and motivates adults. Of course I add in supplemental materials as needed, depending on each individual need.

Even I can play
Alfred's Adult All-in-one Course- Level 1 book has the right combination of theory, technique, and practice. As an adult student, first time playing, I find the lessons easy to remember and appropriately reinforced. I no longer find myself skipping sections because I find the material boring or too challenging. Additionally, the transitions from one lesson to another makes sense and builds upon the previous lessons. I would recommend this book to first time adult players.

Alfred's Adult all in one course level 1
This is a fabulous. I could read treble clef already, so that helped. The book is really well set out, very organised in a progressive set out. the content is also interesting to play, gradually becoming more challenging. I have really enjoyed teaching myself piano from this book.

Perfect
I had not used the All-in-One Course before, but decided it might be what my new high school music student needed to refresh what he had already learned and progress at an adult level. It is absolutely perfect for him. He is working diligently in this book, is thrilled to be learning theory and technique in the all-in-one book and looks forward to the performance pieces in Book 2. A perfect find for my student.

Excellent
I have used Alfred Basics Theory, Tehcnic and Lesson courses for years, with much success. I wondered if this all-in-one course would be appropriate for a 14 year old who had some music reading background, playing clarinet in his junior high school band. It's perfect. Moves at just the right pace. The included theory pages give just enough practice learning new concepts, for each weekly private lesson. It is comprehensive in teaching reading of bass & treble clefs, and builds - precept upon precept, steadily. Great all in one course.

Good For What It Is
I think the book is well done however, it is a $20 lesson book and moves quickly. You get what you pay for and I think it is a good value for the price.

Alfred's Adult All-in-One Course - Level 1 (book)
I am finding this book quite useful. Though the pieces are simple the theory demonstrated in each step is presented in a way that quickly teaches the student the concept(s) and in short order you are gratified with successful performance. The level of composition is also quite satisfying and some of the pieces are captivating enough to get me to improvise with added notation and measure rearrangement. I've gone ahead and bought the succeeding two volumes as I am sure these will give me sufficient confidence to explore intermediate repertoire. This series was recommended by my piano teacher.

I realluy learned more with one week practicing the Chord approach Level 1, then after trying for 3 years of classes. It is a very good method and I am very happy with it. Is there a site for doubts????
