The Essential Collection for the Church Pianist
I am very disappointed in this Collection. I could not find anything I liked in the entire Collection. The arrangements are all so similar, with lots of broken chords. I find it more intermediate to advanced - there were none that interested me in the lower intermediate range.

Great book
I am the pianist/organist at a Catholic Church. I use this book all the time. It is a great mix of song with beautiful arrangements. Some sight readable, others may require a bit of effort.

The Essential Collection for the Church Pianist
I cannot recommend this volume highly enough. Since receiving it (and not really knowing what I was getting), I have had hours of enjoyment at the piano, both for my own love of playing and also sharing with my church family. The arrangements are absolutely beautiful in all cases, very clever and emotional settings of many favourites. As it came just a few weeks prior to Christmas, I used the appropriate Christmas pieces, along with more general offerings. Thankyou so much for such lovely music. I would love a sequel please. Aussie church pianist.

Great resource
Very interesting and enjoyable arrangements with a wide variety of treatments. Familiar tunes but with novel and more complex treatments, making them fun to play and enjoyable for audiences. I especially love the gospel treatments by Jack Schrader, can't get enough! Enjoyed getting familiar with more arrangers than previously. This should prove a great asset for any church pianist/keyboardist.

Very Useful Book
This is an outstanding collection and well worth the cost. As usual in a collection like this, there will be pieces I'll return to many times, some I'll never use, and others used once or twice. There is a good range of difficulty from intermediate to advanced. Some arrangements are frankly trite and others are filled with left hand arpeggios combined with 4 note octave moves in the right hand - for no good musical reason.

This book is a little pricey, BUT....the best $ I ever spent. Outstanding arranging, very playable and easy to listen to. Quality printing and binding. This is said after being a church organist/pianist for 40 years. It's an invaluable addition to my lifetime collection of music.

I am a church organist/pianist. This book is very handy when you need to come up with a good selection in a hurry. I have used the book multiple times.I would have given it 5 stars; however, my book is missing pages 125 through 140.

Excellent!
This is a great book! I played my first couple pieces out of it last Sunday and I really enjoyed it. They don't take much time to learn for a more advanced pianist so they're very convenient for those of us who don't have much time to sit down and practice for church. I would definitely recommend this book to others!

Essential Collection
5 stars. Really like the variety of music. Many are good for Communion meditation. Others are great prelude/postlude pieces. Some are sight-readable;others need practice-worth it.

Sample Pages better than Song List
I think there's an error in the website's list of 10 tired old numbers. The sample pages provide a much more enticing array, none of which I noticed in the Song List.

Essential book!
I absolutely the Shackley arrangements in this book! It is a great book for a church pianist. The arrangements are pretty, they are easy to prepare for performance. I highly recommend!!
