Good but I usually simplify the chords.
I've found some of these pieces useful and tuneful, as (organ) preludes or to play during communion, but almost entirely from January-June. For me, 'How Firm a Foundation' is the one spirited, stand-out postlude. I tend to re-use 'God, Give Us Christian Homes' (also from the May and June section) and 'Hallelujah! What a Saviour' too, but I do almost automatically omit an awful lot of the 'middle' notes to simplify the pieces.

best ever
This is the best purchase I have ever made. The music is arranged beautifully and it is set up so you can match what is appropriate for each service. I not only bought this for me, I then purchased a 2nd copy as a gift for a friend.

What Can I Play on Sunday
I really appreciate this book. The arrangements of sacred hymns (and/or praise songs) are musical and timely. There are different styles (lyrical, majestic, etc.), and the music is not too difficult to prepare with limited practice time. I recommend it - and have also purchased it for my piano students who play in church.

Wonderful Collection
I'm so pleased with my purchase of this book! The arrangements are well done: easy enough to learn in a few days, but are complex enough to be interesting. The only negative I would mention is that I would rather have it spiral bound with laminated covers. I fear this book will fall apart with so much use!

Good investment
There are so many nice songs that SOUND REALLY GOOD. If you're a church pianist, you SHOULD GET THIS! Two negatives, however... 1) If you have other What Can I Play on Sunday books, what's in this book is the same. 2) Don't buy this book if you are looking predominantly for Christmas songs. Of the MANY great songs in this book, it is NOT THE CHRISTMAS ONES.

A Great Collection!
This was a great deal and a very useful collection.I've had this book for a few months and have already gotten a lot of use out of it. Some of the arrangements are absolutely beautiful! My favourite so far is This Is My Father's World. Some pieces will need more preparation than others, but I don't find them extremely difficult. I would place them somewhere between intermediate and late-intermediate for the most part.A worthwhile investment for any church musician or anyone who loves to play.
