Most are very short, about 2-3 minutes and concisely constructed.

  • April 20, 2008 Mendelssohn "Songs Without Words" (Peters)

This is a well printed ,good quality edition of Mendelssohn's famous "Drawing Room Music," composed largely for the new Middle Class in the first half of the 19th Century. Much of the music sounds dated to modern ears , but there are still many of his pieces that charm and...

capture the atmosphere of that era , e.g. Duetto, Spinning Song etc. Some are difficult, but there are many, such as the Gondola Songs that are well within reach of average Intermediate students. My copy is well bound ,printed on good paper and it arrived by mail in first class condition. Recommended.

A really superb collection and rendition of Songs without Words. The fingering is far better than previous efforts I've used and I very much like the layout and texture of the pages.
