One of my most favorite church music books. The arrangements are original and so soothing to play. My copy is disintegrating from frequent use over the years! I’ll probably repurchase it at some point.

The Living Room Sessions
This book has been one of my favorites for many years. My daughter purchased her own copy. Because they are a bit longer, they can be utilized for a longer prelude. Highly recommend.

Inspiring beautiful arrangements!
Wow...I purchased this book 3 years ago and keep coming back to it, usually on Sunday afternoons when Im feeling run down. I am amazed that every time I play through his music I get something entirely new out of it! This is simple music, easy to play for the intermediate player. But there is something in his music that is deep and rich! I discover something new every time I play his music. Get this is you want to feel inspired and uplifted.

Great arrangements
Different but all very interesting and enjoyable arrangements of familiar hymns. I like every piece. Challenging enough to make it interesting, but not too difficult to play for fun. Would recommend to any pianist who enjoys church music. I have played piano duets of church music by Joel Raney, and was pleased to find some of the same pieces in solo arrangements.

I was disappointed in the redundant measures if For The Beauty of the Earthand made several cuts to make it flow more to my liking. Some of the arrangements are good. Great is Thy Faithfulness is lovely. 'How Great Thou Art' also got some cuts for my taste.

simple but beautiful!
This is exactly what I was looking for: Hymn arrangements that didn't have that big dramatic churchy sound but something simple and flowing using fresh, new chord progressions. I love this book and use it for Preludes and background music at weddings, services, and events. It is easy enough for a late-intermediate player but is satisfying for the most advanced player to enjoy. I plan to lend it to some of my students who I know will get as much pleasure from the music as I have.

Pleasing to play
This is the best hymn arrangement book I have ever played from. The arrangements are simple sounding, not pompous, jazzy, weird, or cheesy. I like every single song in the book; not just the 2 or 3 from a book that usually happens for me. I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! I only wish he had more.
