Most of us have probably had at least one very dry technique book over the years. But it need not be! This book is so rich, incorporating Czerny's enjoyable studies with Hanon's finger drills and Burgmüller treasures. I highly recommend this well-chosen book of piano studies...

My teacher used this collection 50 years ago with me and now I use it with my piano students. It's a wonderful collection with great variety and teaches amazing skills with dynamics, musicality, articulation, etc.

  • March 24, 2019 FANTASTIC NEXT STEP AFTER METHOD BOOKS

After I take kids through Bastien 3rd or 4th Level I move them to this book which is absolutely perfect beginning that 'intermediate' stage of piano. The legitimate repertoire from Burgmuller, the continued technic from Hanon and Czerny in ONE BOOK that kids can play out of for a year...

or two. Along with a Sonatina to really develop their musicianship over a semester, some pop music for fun - this is the BEST way to transition kids out of method books systematically and purposefully. There are both quickly accessible and challenging songs so that kids are both encouraged and pushed to grow. LOVE IT SO MUCH

I find this book to be the best starter for students that have raised their level between 3 and 4. It introduces the classics, meter and control of fingers.
