Fundamentals of Piano Theory
These are the best theory books Ive come across in nearly 40 years of teaching. The information is comprehensive and complete. I start my students in the Prep book as soon as they start lessons. By the time they reach High School they are prepared to take the AP Theory test. Ive not had one student fail the test who has used these. Each unit builds on the one before and also builds on the information from previous books. The gradual reinforcement of concepts is key. Use these and your students will actually learn to love theory! All of my students enjoy doing it and knowing they know more theory than most of their school music teachers do! When in school music classes, your students will always be the first with their hands in the air with the answers!

The best so far
The book is well-organized. Concepts are introduced clearly and concisely. Exercises are designed well to provide students with whatever practice they need. This is the best theory book I have read so far. This might be a good beginning book for pianists who want to learn song writing or improvisation.
