Antonio Vivaldi first published the violin concerto in aminor in 1711 as part of a collection of string concertos known as L'estroarmonico, Op. 3. There are 12 concertos in the collection and the a minorviolin concerto is the 6th concerto in the set.  It was originally scored for solo violin,small string orchestra, and continuo. The popularity of these concertos wasrivaled only by the Four Seasons from his Opus 8 collection.

This arrangement of the second movement captures the detailedmelodic line of the solo violin with the simplicity of the accompaniment.
