Composed by Katherine Hoover. Sws. The first performance of Thin Ice was given by Gloria Chuang in a recital at the hong Kong Institute of Education, in Hong Kong. Four days later, on April 18th, 2010 the American premiere was given by Mirian Conti at St. Peter's Church in New York City. Full score. With Standard notation. Papagena Press #PP184. According to the composer, Thin Ice is meant to evoke "fear that we will tumble into the freezing dark, into truly hostile territory." She also realized that "thin ice is also linked with possibility; with taking a chance, stepping into the unknown, considering what may be disdained or even shocking to others, personally or professionally..and going ahead."
