Enjoyable
Some of the pieces are late intermediate at best like Have youself a Merry little Christmas which is my favorite piece in this collection which is the most challenging for me in this collection and at the same time enjoyable . The rest of the pieces are mostly between mid and upper intermediate . Still this collection is not too hard for the experienced pianist but also can help the intermediate player advance in their skills.

beautiful arrangements
I love these arrangements. They're on the lower end of advanced and some of the songs are much more intermediate than advanced.

a good book
Very nice arrangements, but as I've also experienced in other christmas books, some melodies seem bit too 'flowery' or forced. I may be biased, but I prefer adherence to the traditional melodies. Overall it's very good though.

The Professional Pianist - Solos for Christmas
I found the arrangements in this book to be generally useful, very pleasant and contemporary. I incorporated three of the pieces in my Christmas program this year that I played at local retirement communities. The residents enjoyed these selections greatly. The arrangements fit well under the hands and do not take long to master. This is an intermediate level piano collection. I would recommend them to any intermediate level pianist looking for some different arrangements of familiar Christmas carols.

Decent
This book is nice, but isn't my first choice to play from for Christmas favorites. Many of the arrangements are just way too short in my opinion (2 pages), and if I'm playing for church, and event, or even myself, I prefer a longer arrangement. The other reason it isn't my first choice is that I have very small hands, and quite a few of the arrangements have a lot of large chords, octaves, and are just generally uncomfortable to play for someone with very small hands.

Great for gigs!
I recently had a Christmas gig (our university president's Christmas party) and I only needed this book. My teacher lent it to her students playing at the gig, and all we had to do was sightread for like an hour. This book is perfect for gigs and sightreading practice; it's a lot more fun than sightreading classical music as well. There are some more advanced pieces in here as well, but even they can be simplified as you play through them.

NOT ADVANCED
This says it's advanced. It is intermediate at best. I've played piano for 20 yrs and I could basically play them perfectly the first time. I gave the book to one of my students and she can play them pretty easily too but she's only been playing for about 4 yrs. The hymns are only 2 pages long so that was disappointing as well as I wanted actual descent length arrangements to play.

Great Arrangements
Frankly, I can't recommend this book for one simple reason... it's not spiral bound. I don't care how good the music is - if it's made for piano but you can't actually place it on your piano without it falling off then what is the point? You can get away with a regular binding for a 12-song booklet but not 50 pieces!I've thrown away all of my Dan Coates music because his music is always bundled in WAY too large of books and it's just too frustrating to play.

Great choice of Christmas music
I purchased this because I have a different kind of Christmas function to play for. The music is varied and covers modern tunes as well as the old carols. The arrangements are delightful. I particularly like the carols. It feels like I'm listening to someone sing them. They're simple to learn and I'd recommend it to anyone who needs some new Christmas music to play.

Lush, challenging arrangements
This is my new fav! Even if a pianist isn't able to execute all the embellishments, it is imminently playable!

Get it spiral bound for $5
Pretty collection of Christmas music with the usual Dan Coates arrangement style. I do gigs at senior centers, assisted living centers, and one restaurant and will be relying on this book for December's Christmas gigs. My only complaint is that the book won't stay open without an inconvenient clothespin. I solved that by a trip to a UPS Store and had them install a spiral binding for about $5. The book is worth buying just for My Grownup Christmas List which is an awesome piece of music. The arrangements in this book are not as difficult as the arrangements in Dan Coate's Complete Advanced Piano Solos.

Good mix
I'm really enjoying the arrangements in this book. They sound good, and I'll agree with others, the pieces are short/shorter but they aren't so hard to require a ton of work. Makes a great mix of songs to play at events.

Good solos
Good arrangements but fast progressions and runs require some expertise.

The best Christmas album I've found in 72 yrs!
I perform piano solo arrangements of Christmas songs whenever I get a chance during the holidays, and this is the best all-around collection I've found in 72 yrs of playing! It has both classic & contemporary, something to please everyone. And LOTS of them! I did take it to an office supply store and have it spiral bound for easier page turning, which would be my suggestion to the publisher, and the pages don't stay open on their own.

Awesome
Bought this for me wife, she thought this was just more Christmas music and she had plenty. But as she began playing them she has fallen in love with many of the arrangements in this book.

Great Collection
This was exactly what I was looking for: solid Christmas arrangements that have some challenge but are easy enough to sight-read for an advanced pianist. Serves well as something I can pull out each holiday season and play a variety of classics without having to put a lot of time in learning arrangements.

Not Professional
I wish I had read the reviews of this book before buying it. Most arrangements are two pages, and the ones that are longer are lazy. Often times he just does the same thing in another octave. Most of them are not hard and most of them are not interesting. I have a few of his other books and they're great - they are difficult yet beautiful so this was a disappointment.
