  • November 16, 2020 G. Henle Verlag forever!

As has always been my experience with G. Henle Verlag editions: the pages are quality paper and lie almost flat when you turn a page (and do lie flat after a few times using the music); the version is carefully researched and alternatives are often shown in footnotes; the printing...

and fingerings are clear; you can rely on seeing what the composer intended.

I had the G. Schirmer edition of the piano sonatas for about a year, when my piano teacher recommended that I got an urtext edition. Just for perspective on accuracy, the sonata in Bb K. 570 isn't even in the Schirmer edition. The urtext edition is a whole other...

universe! This edition is very clear and accurate. It is printed on beautiful non-glare paper with very clear printing. The binding is perfect; the book opens flat, but it stays together very well. Volume II has all of my favorite sonatas in it. They are some of the most beautiful piano pieces. This is by far the best urtext edition for the Mozart sonatas.
