My Go-To favorite book for the Avent season
I have played each and every piece in this collection (not always something Ive done with other books). This is a keeper. Marks arrangements arent always easy, but sound so beautiful it makes the practice so enjoyable.

Great Advent resource
This book will provide church musicians with much-needed options during Advent. Many resources claim to offer appropriate selections that are actually Christmas music. Musicians in churches that follow the liturgical calendar know that there is a difference, so I'm grateful to now be able to enlarge my Advent repertoire. The arrangements sound more difficult than they actually are, and they don't require hours of preparation.

Gorgeous Arrangements
Mark Hayes definitely has the arranger's touch for piano music. These pieces are so rich in sound, and so playable. Can't wait to play the book at our Christmas Eve midnight service; my old boss Gregg Smith would give it an A+.

Sublime!
These meditative arrangements are sublimely beautiful. As a pianist for a Catholic parish, these are ideal pre-service meditations. I have received many compliments on these from parishioners, and of course the credit goes the Mark Hayes.

Advent, by Mark Hayes
[...] But I am very familiar with the work of Mark Hayes, and know that it is always amazing; so I took a chance. The book arrived today, August 5th, I sightread through the entire book, and now am so excited about the up-coming Advent season. I almost wish it was November as I can't wait to share these pieces with my congregation. Do not be intimidated by the recording of Let All Mortal Flesh Be Silent as it sounds much harder to play than it actually is. This book will supply my communion meditation needs for all of Advent, providing gorgeous background music for silent prayer and reflection. Thank you, Mark Hayes, for recharging my passion for these time-honored hymns and carols. This book is a treasure.......buy it!

A MUST HAVE book for Advent
This is my 'go to' book of piano selections for Advent. They are not too difficult, and a beautiful rich sounding arrangements of very familiar songs. I love Mark's arrangements!!

Advent
I treasure this piano book. Every single song is beautiful. What a value! I am a church pianist and organist, and this is just perfect for the Advent season. I am so thankful to Mark Hayes and his gorgeous arrangements. Practicing his music is a time I greatly look forward to, and I feel thankful to God that I am able to play these songs and share them with others. There have been many nice comments from our congregation.

Advent
I love this collection. I ordered it a bit too late to use it for 2014's Advent season, but several of the pieces 'cover' non-Advent hymn tunes (e.g., Hyfrydol) and I have used them in several times in early 2015. Without realizing it while I was planning, last Sunday became a 'Mark Hayes Sunday' because the piano prelude, piano offertory and the anthem (God Our Creator, Sustainer) were all by Mr Hayes. I guess I'm a fan. ;)

Advent - Mark Hayes
This is a stunningly beautiful collection of music for Advent. I played Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence for the Prelude in a large traditional church last Sunday and the congregation was silent, giving full attention - and I'm sure with the words going through their minds - just as you wish to begin the Advent season of wonder. Each selection in this book has a wonderful impact - thank you, Mark Hayes!

Interesting
Perhaps these pieces would be more appropriate in a more liturgical, traditional type of church than the one where I play. I was really excited to find a book of Advent pieces all in one book. But somehow, these pieces don't quite live up to the other Mark Hayes pieces and collections I have. Compared to his usual, these pieces seem a little bland and not easily worked to performance point in a week or less.

Advent
I'm a church pianist & I'm always keeping a lookout for creatively arranged church appropriate material. This fits the bill! Love: Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence - soft & quite. A great solo! Highly recommend the book! Thank you Mark Hayes!

Advent; Piano Meditations.
On hearing the attached recording of the 3rd piece, (as listed in the book) the quiet serenity of it convinced me the entire sheet-music album was worth buying. This body of work is ideal for presentation (1 per week)over the 8 Sundays prior to & including the Advent period, concluding on Christmas Eve.Yes; these pieces are difficult re - technique, but will prove entirely satisfying given diligent effort. Having read the composer Mark Hayes comments on the forward page of his album; I have to concur that to play them any other way would cheapen & spoil the intent of his compositional giftedness.
