Good edition, but it has flaws
Its pros are that it gives you Bach's complete Well-Tempered Clavier at an excellent price, free of the dubious editorial markings that plague Schirmer and other equally-inexpensive editions. Its cons? To be honest, some of those editorial markings can be helpful! What you get is essentially a urtext edition. The only editorial markings seem to be tempo indications. However, the lack of fingering is a bit of a problem. Phrasing would also be helpful, but even Henle editions of the WTC don't have phrasing. Another con is that the binding is stiff; you'll have to break it in well before playing from this book. If you have a good teacher, access to a good recording (I recommend Rosalyn Tureck), and/or access to an edition with fingering, this edition would work well for you. If you need fingering, phrasing, and dynamics and don't mind a Romantic interpretation of this Baroque masterpiece, then get a Schirmer. Otherwise, get a Henle if you can afford it.
