For almost eighty years, only incomplete manuscripts of this work were known to exist, but in 2007, the Eastman School of Music acquired a manuscript that had been in private hands since Howard Hanson’s widow’s death in 1996. Howard Hanson sonata in A mnor for piano
I always loved the music of Howard Hanson especially compositions like his symphony no2 Romantic and Marymount. This sonata shares many of the characteristics for what he has become famous such as beautiful melodies , great drama and virtuosity.
