maintain focus and direction. However, in its essence, beauty is fundamental and common to
all human beings. Quoting international author, Rupert Spira: “When we taste our true nature
through perception, the experience is known as beauty”. What a wonderful way to grasp what
we truly are; by experiencing beauty. As a matter of fact, for thousands of years humans from
every corner of the earth have experienced and shared their true self through beauty. From the
primitive paintings in the caves of Altamira, to the magnificent compositions of J.S. Bach, up
to the glowing plethora of artistic genres of the contemporary world. It is this deeper
understanding of beauty, transcending form, time and space, that is honored in this work.
The piece is based on a flexible arch form structure and begins and ends with a slow
contemplative allure. In between these two sections, a persevering “b natural”, serving as an
ostinato, prevails throughout much of the piece as the music dives into different moods and
textures.
