Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by Stanley M. Hoffman. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 4 pages. Stanleymhoffman.com #3914623. Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.924863).

This piece was composed for a call for scores for Vox Novus' 15 Minutes of Fame series for pianist Stephen Porter; he did not choose it for performance in his "Debussy Reimagined" concert, but the composer is very fond of the music this call for scores left behind. Iberian Tango is inspired by motifs taken from Iberia, the second movement of Claude Debussy’s triptych Images pour orchestre. While quite taken with all three movements, the composer found himself being drawn most to the movement called Ibéria, especially the melody which forms the basis of the opening and closing sections of the Tango.
