1. My college piano teacher assigned my first LH Alone piece (Prélude For Left Hand Alone by Alexander Scrià bin after I injured my right hand because needed to keep my practice going.
2. It’s concentrated practice for advancing all of the left hand skills.
3. For those of us who are right handed, we don’t always listen to the phrasing we are creating with our left hands. Playing a melody line with the left hand alone forces one to critique and correct the musicality of the left hand.
4. It forces the left hand to move from register to register on the piano.
