A sweet melodic line shared by the right and left hands describes Corona Australis, the southern crown. The ancient Greeks knew it as a wreathe, not a crown. Chinese astronomers referred to it as a turtle on the banks of the Milky Way river. Linking to both traditions, I have taken some material from Corona Borealis as well as keeping in mind the celestial turtle. This Intermediate Piano Solo is from “88 Constellations” a collection by Heather Cattanach featuring one piece of piano music for each of the 88 constellations (to match the number of keys on a standard piano).
