The name Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849) is synonymous with the piano. Indeed, every one of his compositions includes the instrument. His Preludes, several of which are of only moderate difficulty, show superb polish and inventive detail. Shaped by the tastes of the Parisian aristocratic salon, these pieces make the most of a pianist's technical and musical abilities, both in passages of virtuosity and in the variety of possibilities for emotional expression.

Beatiful edition
Great layout.. With some preludes including hundreds of tiny notes, it really makes a difference to have a well spaced format.Inspiring insights from the editor and awesome recording. As a whole, the 24 preludes are very demanding, and it helps to have an edition like this.

Chopin Preludes.
The Chopin Preludes are Magical and are poetry in music. There is no easy Chopin, onlyrelative easy Chopin. All are contained in this wonderful work. Some could be described as difficult as the Studies. Everybody will have their own particular favourite prelude. Is No.15 the real Raindrop prelude? In my opinion,No.6 is more like Raindrops. In my opinion no one plays them better than Friedrich Gulda. SeeDecca LXT2837. The Opus 45 Prelude in Csharp minor is a wonderful work and MAGICAL to play.
