Anfang 2014 verbrachte ich einige Zeit in einem Meditationshaus in einem entlegenen Ort an der Ostsee, wo das Streichduo schließlich seinen Namen erhielt. In Verehrung für die Heilige Teresa von Avila habe ich das Stück Castillo Interior genannt. Dieser Titel bezieht sich auf das 1577 von ihr geschriebene Buch Moradas del Castillo Interior [„Wohnungen der Inneren Burg], welches als das Hauptwerk der großen Mystikerin gilt. In der vorliegenden Fassung findet es nun auch seinen Weg ins Klavierrepertoire.
Das 12-minütige Werk entstand ursprünglich auf Anregung der Cellistin Sol Gabetta für Violine und Violoncello, im Gedenken an die große Mystikerin und Heilige Teresa von Avila. In der vorliegenden Fassung findet es nun auch seinen Weg ins Klavierrepertoire.
