Lessons is the core of Piano Town. The controlled, steady pacing of the curriculum introduces one element at a time. Each concept is presented in a consistent, reliable format. This clear presentation helps students focus on new skills and information. Lessons Level Three introduces various styles of broken chord accompaniments, including the waltz bass and Alberti bass patterns. Minor key signatures are introduced and students will play scales, chords and music in A, D, E and G minor. B-flat Major is also introduced. Other important new skills include playing chromatic scales, triads and inversions, octaves and overlapping pedal technique. The music in this book emphasizes classical literature with works by Telemann, J.C. Bach, L. Mozart, Haydn, Diabelli, Hook, Gurlitt, Schytte and Salutrinskaya. In addition to a review of Sonatina form, students will also learn about binary and ternary form.

I love Piano Town, all levels. This is a comfortably paced method that covers every aspect. The Lesson book correlates to the Theory, Technique and Performance book, preparing students for and introducing them to classical music

I tried to read through everything in this method, the whole series. I had over $200.00 worth of music to look at, but as I recall, the literature in this series was not very interesting, at least in the lower levels. Everything seemed to be more like an exercise to...

teach a certain pianistic skill. There didn't seem to be much of anything "catchy" or "tuneful" in the early levels. I'm sorry that I can't recall this particular book. From the title page, it seems to be a bit more interesting. I also thought the staples used to put the books together were sharp and exposed enough to injure a small child's hand, or an adult, for that matter.
