I had a 4yrs old student and started her with this series. She really enjoyed this book it's a lot of fun and the cd in Book A helps a lot with the learning. I recomend this series for students below 5 yrs.

I teach piano, have a doctorate, etc- I rate this excellent for young kids, and gave it to my own little daughter. She loved singing with the CD (over and over and over) and I loved that it uses real notation right away, after only 4 pages of "graphic" notation...

. Stays super easy and cute, the best I've ever used for kids under 7 or 8.

    Difficulty Level:
  • June 01, 2009 Book B - Introduces note-reading

I use this series for 4-7 year old students. The games, CD and exercises to develop hand and finger dexterity in Book A are good for the very youngest, with short attention spans. For them I do 15-20 minute sessions, singing the songs on the CD and reviewing...

the games, keeping it very fast paced. Book B introduces the Grand Staff and note-reading. I would recommend it and the Writing Book for students 5-7... There is an online guide to the First Piano Adventure series with videos at -
