  • January 29, 2013 Great Keveren Book!

This is a great book in the Phillip Keveren Series! All of the songs fall in the late intermediate to advanced range and require a solid octave with reach. The pieces are true to their original melodic and harmonic roots and are arranged beautifully into very playable piano solos. I...

've yet to be disappointed by a Keveren arrangement!

  • January 09, 2013 Good, but lacking

This is probably biased, since I am a professional musician, college trained and an advanced player.I find these arrangements lacking real "meat." I'm constantly improvising to give these arrangements some energy and flash. While I know these arrangements will appeal to some, again I said this was biased...

, if you are a performing musician looking for repertoire for your concert, look elsewhere. You will be disappointed in the level of difficulty. I can sightread most of these the first time through.I would LOVE to see a version of these songs for a more classically trained pianist, or at least in more of a showman style. Give them some arpeggios, and flourishes that will really shine during a concert.Again, I like the product, but not enough to give it more than 3 stars.

  • July 31, 2011 Phillip Keveren is a lord

9 out of 10 piano 'sheet musics' are actually not great for the non-pianist who does not want to sing over the chords, or for the pianist who is not yet at improvising chord/flourishing the notes level.Phillip's key books - the Beatles, Classic Wedding Songs, and this...

one - stand out for pianists as immensely good arrangements on their own for those without chord/melody jazz improvisation skills - like Dan Coates' arrangement of many years ago, they are stellar and make the most of the wonderful instrument that is the contemporary piano. Please buy it...

  • June 15, 2008 Wonderful Classical Touch

These pieces are arranged to sound as if they were written originally for piano by classically trained composers. These popular pieces are arranged with classically developed themes, and they echo with familiar sounds from well-known classical piano solos. It is such a pleasure to play each verse and each...

chorus a little differently. Primarily I play classical music, yet I like to play more popular music when the arrangements are varied and interesting. This book was made exactly for someone like me. Highly recommended.
