I first heard this played by a lutenist, and was immediately totally enchanted by the beauty of the music - I HAD to find a piano transcription! So I began my internet search here in England, but no-one had it, which was very disappointing. Then my search engine came up...

with sheetmusicplus, and I was SO excited that they had it in stock, in a Schirmer edition. Air mail was really quick, so I didn't have long to wait until I could begin learning... Sheetmusicplus have a fantastic selection of titles, and a really good international service- I am pleased and impressed!

  • February 24, 2010 Beautiful arrangement

This is such a wonderful piece! Romantic-era arrangements of Baroque masterpieces aren't usually so musically authentic and impressive, but Busoni's great arrangements of Bach works have to be an exception to the rule. Don't be misled by the difficulty level of 'Early Advanced' in the listing...

    - it's a very demanding concert work, calling for virtuoso technique, and most certainly in the Advanced category!
