The 150 of the most beautiful songs 4th edition.
If finding book will not remain open to use, take it to a local print shop. They can cut the spine and put 3 holes there file in 3-ring binder(s).

Great collection
A great collection. For those who comment about the binding of the book: Our local office big box store - the 'maximum' office store, will re-bind music books like this for a few dollars with a spiral binding. I have had many of my music books like this one bound there. They do a good job and the books stay flat on the piano.

150 of the Most Beautiful Songs Ever
While this book has an attractive selection of music, I would recommend against purchase since it will not remain open due to poor binding as is true with some other books from Hal Leonard.

Good Buy
Thick paper. Easy to read. If you want to perform for he public, you should cut the pages out and copy, so you don't have to turn the pages. Lots of good songs from Broadway and movies. Glad I bought the book.

Good Grouping
Good selection of songs - basics to any pianist bag of songs. Simple accompaniment but useful to establish correct chording

150 of the most beautiful songs ever 4th edition
I have not gotten the book but I have gotten what we Musicians call fake books that folds great. The songs sound great however and I would copy the songs I would play

Somewhat disappointed
The songs are terrific- no complaints there. My low rating is for the book itself. Its too thick and will not stay open to a page you select to play. My husband was kind enough to take the entire book apart, 3-hole punched it and put it in a 3-ring binder for me. Though the pages stick out a little at the top, at least I am able to open to a song I want to play without any trouble now. Too bad it didnt come spiral bound. Other than that - its a great song book.

okay
I agree with th e paperback binding, very difficult to play tunes when the book keeps closing. Pity to split the binding

Great collection of songs! Some a bit dated depending upon the audience you're catering to

Let's kill some trees
Some very nice selections, especially Michel LeGrand lesser know favorites like What are you doing the rest of your life (fantastic). However, You've got a minimum of two pages for most of the songs, some 4-5 pages. How the hell are you supposed to 'fake' it unless you have someone there to turn the pages for you. I have to cut the damn things down and repaste them. But I guess you can get away with this in the name of volume. Also, you can't put them on a music stand and expect them to stay put. I play jazz accordion and remake most of the chords into 6ths, diminished sevenths and augmented 5th/7ths, so it doesn't matter that you don't have them arranged. Get with it, put these songs in one page arrangements and forget the intro's, nobody plays them at a gig.

150 of the most beautiful songs ever, 3rd edition
I love the songs - the book is too big to handle. I had to tear it apart and make scrap book pages in order to take it to places where I play. I use it every time I play for older people, because they remember the songs. It's what I was looking for!

So, so
I should have listened to the reviewer who critiqued the book with regard to size and the expanding of scores to include more pages than necessary. Some of the songs I have in other collections so I know more compact printing is possible. Also, I immediately had the spine split and turned it into two books each bound by spiral. Selections are great...some simplified more than I'd like, but book in its present form is very unhandy.

150 of the Most Beautiful Songs Ever(3rd Edition)
Love all the songs. The book is at least an inch thick, so it won't stay open very well for the first quarter inch of the songs in the book. I'll keep playing and break the spine in...surely wish it were spiral or in 2 books. But, I'm keeping it!

Good investment
This book is well worth investing in - no musical collection would be complete without it. Although, it is not for the modern player - the bulk of the songs are from the 1920's to 50's. So obvioulsy some of them are pretty basic tunes and stuff. Still if you want beautiful music en masse then this is the book to get alright

I love this book.
After a very long time away from piano, I purchased this, and it got my playing again. Some are quite easy, others more challenging, but overall I like most of the songs and can play them. I just wish I could find another book like this with more songs. I don't care for books that aren't piano only because then I run into trouble and get mixed up. Also, this book will lie flat after broken in, and I don't find it to be too heavy.

Title is very true...songs are truly beautiful.
I'm a trumpet player. I play duets with a friend who plays keyboard. The pieces are just right for us to transpose. I love having the lyrics.
