Only very few piano works have become as popular as this theme with twelve variations. It already caught on soon after Mozart's death, as witnessed by the numerous handwritten copies and prints. Although nothing is known with any certainty regarding its genesis, we can now conclusively date "Ah, vous dirai-je Maman" to 1781. At that time Mozart wanted to make his way as a prominent piano teacher in Vienna. His variations still prove to be excellent teaching material. Our edition has been completely revised and also offers an extremely informative preface by the Mozart specialist Ulrich Konrad.

This title has selections that range in difficulty from SMP Level 7-8.

There is a reason why this piece is such a favorite of Mozart's. It starts so simply and then reaches incredibly complex levels. As always, the Henle edition does not disappoint. Lovely commentary and beautifu, accurate printing!

Who thought that this childrens song could be so complex yet fun to play. I love paying these versions that are so different that you forget it's still Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, but yet it still comes back to that basic melody as it's undertone. Well done Mozart...

I had been wanting to buy this for so long. I heard them played in their entirety, once, years and years ago and always wanted to play them myself one day. It's been fun reading through them.
