Composed by Phil Beaman. 20th Century,Classical,New Age. Score. 3 pages. Phil Beaman #4571315. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844642).Two people are playing a spirited games of marbles. The energetic music (Vivace) goes back and forth between the two players. Drama builds. Then an Andante Espressivo section as the victorious player pauses to admire the beauty of the striped marble he has just won. Then Round 2 in the dominant key and another striped marble in the bag. A Recapitulation and a Picardy Third conclude the game with satisfaction.
The notes and rhythms of this Piano Solo are quite easy. The interest comes from the contrasting sections; energy vs espressivo, vivace vs andante, detached vs slurred. Contains mostly 2-part writing. Both hands are usually in the Treble Clef, most of the time in close proximity, requiring some coordination.
This piece is fun to play and very showy for concert.
84 bars; 2 minutes; 3 page score
