Scraps consists of three works: "Burlesque," "Nocturne," and "Humoresque." The composer calls them an attempt to restore his childhood memories of the difficult, post-war time when his parents and their friends organized music evenings as a way to soothe him - and themselves most likely. The miniatures, presented in archaic musical forms that are rarely used by contemporary music composers, can be played separately or in the order indicated in the collection. "Burlesque" and "Humoresque" are fast and expressive. "Nocturne" is peaceful and very intimate.
