Superb edition
Everything about this edition is tops--the clear, legible font, heavy paper, scholarly annotations. The music itself is haunting and sublimely beautiful; the edition is a joy to work from.

Best edition to have
This is clearly the best edition to have of Janacek's On an Overgrown Path. Compared to the Masters Music Publications edition there are numerous differences, most of which are clearly errors that have been corrected in this urtext edition. Other differences may be attributed to different sources used. Last but not least, the Masters edition has many editorial markings such as pedaling and dynamics which at best only confuse the composer's intentions. The Brenreiter Urtext edition is very easy to read, has clear print and wide spacing. In fact, the only advantage of the Masters edition is that the page turns are fewer and better placed.
