By Paul Taylor. By american tradition. Arranged by Paul Taylor. Film/TV,Folk,Traditional. Score. 3 pages. Paul Taylor #648818. Published by Paul Taylor (A0.1044101).

This piano solo, based on an American folk tune, is often heard in American cowboy dramas. It appears here with an introduction, an interlude and ending, two verses and the refrain. Due to it's popularity, it seems to have been the "go to" tune used by movie creators to depict authentic "saloon style" piano playing from the 1940's to the present time. Most recently is was used in the popular Western TV series " DeadWood." Earlier you could hear it in "Hop-a-long Cassidy" movies ( performed by Gabby Hayes) , Gunsmoke, Paladin and Wanted Dead or Alive among others. The composer attempted to reproduce the feel and style of this genre after researching various Westerns saloon styles in films and tv programs.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
