L’intento di questa raccolta antologica è quello di presentare, raggruppati geograficamente, alcuni brani rinascimentali per liuto, chitarra e vihuela di agevole esecuzione ma non per questo poco originali o accattivanti. Le musiche selezionate sono state trascritte in notazione moderna dalle intavolature originali (il cui anno di pubblicazione è indicato tra parentesi sotto i titoli) e per essere eseguite con la chitarra richiedono l’accordatura della terza corda in Fa diesis e in qualche caso della sesta corda in Re. Queste piccole ma utili modifiche potranno essere affrontate agevolmente dall’allievo se si avrà l’accortezza di applicarle a partire brani più facili. Come in tutti i volumi della collana, Dulcita e Pepito presentano gli strumenti dell’epoca con pose e costumi caratteristici e, insieme alle sintetiche note di apertura su consuetudini, strumenti e stili interpretativi del Rinascimento, permetteranno di avvicinarsi a un mondo fatato di "principi, principesse e castelli", straordinariamente ricco di musiche, danze e opere d’arte.
