This attractive volume brings back into the repertoire the delightful 'Morceau de lecture', which had been unaccountably out of print for almost a century. The 'Romance' and particularly the 'Berceuse' are of course justly popular, but the soaring and impassioned 'Andante' deserves to be heard much more regularly.

Excellent selection of Faure pieces
I'm in my junior year as an undergraduate violin performance major. In anticipation of learning the Faure Sonata No. 1 for Violin and Piano, I was searching for some Faure pieces that might help me understand his musical language a bit. I found this collection and ordered it. The selection of pieces is quite nice - I can't find the Morceau de Lecture anywhere else! I really liked having the separate violin part that comes along with the piano score. This contains the Berceuse, Morceau de Lecture, Romance, and Andante. The Romance is the most complicated piece in this collection.
