Solo parts and accompaniment CD missing
I ordered this item back in the beginning of February and I just got it today at the end of March. I don't have the flute parts by itself or the accompaniment CD that was promised with this book. I'm sure the music in the book is fine, but I wish I had a better experience of getting my order on time. You're most likely better off buying digital versions.

Well-known hymns with a twist
I purchased this volume 1 to play during the covid outbreak for my own enjoyment, as I could no longer play at church. I love it! The arrangements are great; for a flute player, they are flutabulous. Every congregation and experience is different; having said that, I know our Catholic congregation would love these. Our Lord loves that we praise him through music. These arrangements are not sight-readable with the piano. They will take work on both parts. Mr. Adams, thank you!

Flute solos for worship
I've only played one solo from this book. The pcs are too showy for church (my opinion) and I was mortified to discover my pianist had 14 pages of music to deal with!

modern, fresh settings of traditional tunes
I play many church dates each year from Hawaii to Germany and am always looking for new fresh arrangements. I found these arrangements to be fresh and quite modern sounding - equally suited to either a traditional or contemporary service. I have been doing arrangements by Brent Olstad for many years and since he hasn't done any new one recently, these are a good alternate.

Just a Treasure Trove!!
The first time I played the demo online, the hair on my arms stood up. I'm 78 years old and still playing my flute extensively at church--solos, duets, worship ensemble, and other events. Everyone loves the flute, it seems! I play at I suppose a high intermediate to low advanced level. I've played a long time and have a lot of books I've accumulated over the years. Just a few of them are suitable. Three things I look for: 1) a compatible skill level, 2) some variety in the harmonies and arrangements, and 3) LENGTH OF THE SONG is a major factor for me. For an Offertory, for example, a 3-minute song is too short. The arrangements and harmonies are just exquisite. There are 3-4 that are long enough for my offering, and the partly contemporary styling is so wonderful. I have to work on these, but again at my age, that's not a bad thing! I have both I and II books. I love them, my music/worship director loves them, and our congregation can't find enough words to express their appreciation.

Blessing!
I cant say enough great things about this book! It is so hard to find music that you can play at church that is a bit on the more contemporary side. I love this book and book too! It is been such an encouragement and a blessing for me.

Excellent collection
This is a wonderful collection of pieces that work perfectly in any church-related setting. The arrangements are interesting and go beyond the simplistic music that you usually find for winds with piano accompaniment.I do a lot of playing for church-related activities and these pieces work perfectly. I ordered volume 2 and really enjoy those as well.I would like to request that the flute part be a pull-out so that you don't have to copy the parts to play along with the piano.

Fantastic Flute Solos!
I absolutely love this book! Both it and Vol. 2. Finally, solos that are a little challenging and yet very manageable. So many of these play-along type books are so simple you can sightread them. Then you toss the book aside. Not these. While some of them are sightreadable, everyone of them have a few spots that make it a little challenging, be it key or rhythm or speed. Love it!

Flute Intonation
Interesting arrangements, but the flute although technically very proficient is very sharp so composition difficult to evaluate. It may be a quirk in recording rather than that of the instrumentalist. Also, the volume of the recording was too low for the most part to evaluate. Would be technically challenging. Fortunately our church has an excellent pianist. Too bad that there is no pull out flute part as others have stated.

Terrific arrangements
I've been looking high and low for some good flute music for church. This book and the associated volume two really hit the mark. Interesting yet challenging for both the flutist and the pianist. Intermediate to Advanced based on the piece. I play semi-pro, so for me they are not too difficult, but fun to play. The arrangements which include two melodies (Be Thou My Vision/My Shepherd Shall Supply My Need, for example) are particularly good. A nice variety of calm and joyful settings. And for those, unlike me, without a good pianist, the accompanying CD is useful. I just wish there was a pullout flute part. In volume 1, you have to photocopy pages in the piano book and in volume 2 you have to print the solo part from the CD. Not particularly user friendly, but workable.

flute solos for worship
Didn't much care for this book. I thought it was much too difficult and some of the songs I couldn't even tell what they were. They are hard to play with the accompaniment.

Flute solos for worship
Wonderful addition to my play along library. Not your ordinary church music. A nice surprise for the musicians and their audience. Needs an accomplished piano accompanist.

Wow! Fabulous!
I wish I had a dozen books of this caliber. I'm the piano player, and fortunately, I'm blessed with a fabulous flute-playing friend! We've played everything in Vol. 2. Our church members love the upbeat style; it keeps everyone awake and calling for more. Hence, we are popular! My friend also is an outstanding clarinet player, so I have the clarinet book also. I want to get every book Brant Adams arranges! I hope he's working on more!I really like the challenge that his music offers. ajs

Flute Solos for Worship
These are interesting solos for an audience to listen to. They have interesting variations on the theme with modulations and different rhymthic patterns. The collection also contains a good variety of pieces, including music for special seasons. The piano part is included if you have a capable pianist. If not, The CD trac is included. It is piano only and excellently done. Thank you. We need nore good flute solo music at the Intermediate/advanced level.

Great arrangements!
This collection is great for a musician trying to find great more challenging arrangements of hymns. The melody is also found in the piano accompaniment, making these arrangements great duets. The sound is so full unlike a lot of the other arrangements found. I have used this collection many times for offertories and preludes. I've enjoyed it so much, I am going to get the second volume.

Could have been much better
Not fond the arranger's medleys (I don't like medleys, in general); the piano parts are overly fussy (difficult); while I don't mind jazzy music, some of the arrangements are tasteless.
