The 10 booklets of Lyric Pieces represent a piece of intimate life history, wrote Edvard Grieg in 1901 to Henri Hinrichsen, the owner of the music publisher C. F. Peters. In memory of the 100th anniversary of the Norwegian composer's death (2007), the 66 Lyric Piano Pieces, which were so important to Grieg and extremely popular not only with pianists, have now been reissued. This edition is based on the Edvard Grieg Complete Edition (Volume 1) published by Peters. For the practical edition, the musical text was revised and given a new foreword by Prof. Dr. Joachim Dorfmüller (President of the German Edvard Grieg Society).
