Very nice set of Irish tunes that can be played on a soprano recorder or a C tin whistle. Can be played as written or ornamented as you like. The violin accompaniment sounds great with a recorder or whistle.

I've been playing classical violin (and a bit of dubstep and rock) for 30+ years, so I was glad that these arrangements weren't too easy or slow. I'm glad they sound pretty good when performed with the accompaniment. I'm also grateful for the bowing markings, because...

I think that's what "makes" the style sound right. I attended my first "session" last night and was told that the selection in this book is "very poor" (haha!), but *I* think every piece is adorable and I feel so happy when I play through the book with the CD accompaniment banging away!
