Feathered Friends
Beginner Trumpet Solo

Feathered Friends is one of three trumpet solos I composed for very early beginner trumpet students. The idea is to get the students performing as early as possible. Some of my students have performed these solos only weeks into their progress on the trumpet. The have performed for their school assemblies, their church functions and family events.

Feathered Friends is in the key of F (E flat concert), has C in the staff as it's top note, and has no rhythmic value smaller than quarter-notes.

These solos are easy, but they are all three real pieces of music. They do not sound "educational". The comments from the audience are usually "cute".
