The All-State Prep book is designed for serious high school trumpet students to practice during the time between solo contest and the day the all-state music is announced. It gives the students all the skills they need to make practicing the all-state music easier.
To make the All-State band, trumpet students need to have good clean sounds, an appropriate vibrato, a natural sense of musical phrasing, an accute understanding and execution of rhythms, a good understanding of classical trumpet styles and enough finger technique to cover any musical context.
