This arrangement creatively honors the original Earth, Wind, and Fire’s classic, with opportunities for multiple solos and/or solis. It has a nice mix of imitative textures (including a jazz-baroque passage) and homophonic, close jazz harmonies. Ideal for jazz choirs of all sizes and quite reachable for pop groups as well. SATB voicing has no divisi, and is flexible: the tenor part can be managed by low altos, and bass part lies in a comfortable range of tenors if SSAB is desirable. Arranged for SATB with rhythm section. Includes optional improvisational solos for voices or instruments.
