It's definetely more difficult than Mendelsohn in that it requires a very advanced technique on the soloist's part.     The last movement is SO EXCITING!!! This is a very powerful piece of music. The difficulty I would say is advanced but not way advanced. I'd place it in the same difficulty level as the Mendelssohn concerto.
