J.S. Bach's cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben (Heart and Mouth and Deed and Life) closes with the chorale Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. A lovely stream of triplets in the violins alternates with the hymn tune sung by the choir. I wondered if I could take Bach's template and insert a different hymn. With no change of key or meter, Come, Thou Almighty King fits perfectly.
