Composed by Jim Bosse. Concert,Folk,Ragtime. Score. 15 pages. Jim Bosse #4580147. Published by Jim Bosse (A0.954977).

These two pieces; Vista Point and Squirrel Creek were inspired by hiking destinations in the mountains of Colorado, to two foundation ruins of lodges built in the 1920s, then later burned down. My thought was that there was surely a piano in these lodges and Scott Joplin pieces were likely among the repertoire of the pianists of that era. These two pieces are scored for piano solo with an optional narration part that tells the history of these lodges. Without narration the set performance time is 8 minutes. With the narration the pieces are played through once with the narration, then repeated without the narration, thus doubling the performance time. Performance demand is intermediate.
