Night Music was commissioned by Guitar magazine in 1976 to provide good quality music of moderate difficulty. It is a sound-painting of the hours of darkness, using bi-tonality and unique technical effects. The piece explores the sound possibilities of the guitar and develops from its first section. The central agitato section represents a sense of panic, with an absence of steady metre in the whole piece, except the Serenade section.
Night Music a été commandée par le magazine Guitar en 1976 pour fournir une musique de bonne qualité de difficulté moyenne. C'est une peinture sonore des heures d'obscurité, utilisant la bitonalité et des effets techniques uniques. La pièce explore les possibilités sonores de la guitare et se développe à partir de sa première section. La section centrale agitato représente un sentiment de panique, avec une absence de mesure stable dans toute la pièce, à l'exception de la section Sérénade.
