What if Mummy cooks amazing food, but dad is never present and granny memory is fading away?... Music has the ability to unleash new empathic experiences in any of us. My goal with this small suite was to recreate some classics through metaphors, analogy and a grain of parody. This programmatic suite has a pedagogical role since it allows the player to practice and develop technical skills required to play the canonical repertoire. Furthermore, it also invites players to be immersed into these family characters and to try to absorb and embody some of their emotional experiences which are required to best convey the meaning of the situations. As such, I expect these pieces to be suitable for the classroom, recitals or just for fun.
