By Arturo Escorza. Composed by Vicente Ortiz de Zarate. Arranged by Arturo Escorza. Baroque,Chamber,Early Music,Praise & Worship,Sacred. 11 pages. Arturo Escorza #716167. Published by Arturo Escorza (A0.1114232).

A beautiful duet for two sopranos, accompanied by two flutes and continuo, "Ya murio mi redentor" (My redeemer already died), by the Spanish (novohispano) composer Vicente Ortiz de Zarate, Kapellmeister of Guadalajara Cathedral. Fl.18th century. The piece describes with painful and deep notes, the descent of the cross, of Jesus Christ. The text seems to cry when singing "my beloved father has already died... nailed to the cross.".
