An elegant and heart-warming arrangement of the holiday classic, inspired by Natalie Cole’s celebrated performance and adapted from Alan Broadbent’s orchestral setting. With sweeping strings, lush woodwinds, and sparkling brass, this version brings a touch of sophistication and festive magic to any Christmas pops concert or gala performance.
Instrumentation:
Vocal Solo
Woodwinds: 2 Flutes, Piccolo (optional), 2 Oboes, English Horn (optional), 2 Clarinets, Bass Clarinet (optional), 2 Bassoons, Contrabassoon (optional)
Brass: 4 Horns in F, 4 Trumpets, 4 Trombones, Tuba (Playable with 3 Trumpets and 3 Trombones)
Rhythm: Piano, Celesta (optional), Guitar (optional), Bass, Drums
Percussion: Timpani, 2 Percussionists, Harp
Strings: Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Cello, Contrabass
Notes: Piccolo, English Horn, Bass Clarinet, Contrabassoon, Celesta, and Guitar are optional. Flexible brass scoring allows performance with 3 Trumpets and 3 Trombones.
