This work for two violins (aka my first Violin Duet in A Minor) was inspired by a challenge in
an instagram story by Two Set Violin (Brett and Eddy) asking if there were any composers out
there who wanted to show their work. I accepted the opportunity. This piece wasn't as big as
planned, but I did it as a sort of sketch, a call and response, an "invention" of sorts for these
two violins. This was fun to compose.
The work is great for violin and orchestra solo concerts. It would be great for a solo break in
between bigger works. It has a runtime of 1 minute and 53 seconds so it's good for a solo or
duet piece to break up a concert program. It features the minor key with some modal textures
and easy harmonic structures between the two violins. It is perfect for the beginner or intermediate
violinist duet.
