Robert Schumann's The Happy Farmer (The Happy Peasant) was published as part of the Album for the Young (Album für die Jugend), Op. 68, in 1848. Composed originally for his three daughters, the album contained 43 short works for children or beginners. The Happy Farmer is a favorite and easily recognized. A separate solo sheet is provided for the violin along with the score.
