Advanced • Every year, hundreds of choirs around the world perform Handel’s “Messiah,” which contains the best-known musical retelling of the story of Christ’s birth. Now this timeless music is available to church pianists as well, through these well-crafted four-hand transcriptions by Larry Shackley. “The Christmas Messiah” features three favorite choruses, two of Handel’s most melodic arias, and the delightful “Pastoral Symphony,” all arranged to take advantage of the full range of the piano. Equally suitable for church services and school programs, these Christmas classics are exciting to play and hear.

  • Glory To God
  • For Unto Us a Child is Born
  • O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion
  • Pastoral Symphony (Pifa)
  • Rejoice Greatly O Daughter Of Zion

Whoo Hoo!!
Collectively, our church musicians own approximately 20 copies of this book and/or the music there in. We are blessed to have multiple pianists in our church. We have even used these duets as quartets, sextets, octets, and more! As Larry's adaptations follow the Schirmer (Spicker) editions, it is fairly easy to use the organ in combination with them. Some arrangements are easy enough to introduce students to ensemble performance. But step up, people!!! Buy the number of copies that you are using! We love you, Larry!
