Absolutely the best Beginner method
Howard kasschau series is the very best piano method for teachers to use for students of all ages. I've used it for over 22 years and my students enjoy Theory selection of pieces while learning a more advanced method. Produces excellent pianists!

Best Piano method
I've used the Kasschau Piano course books for all of my students for over 21 years. They are a more advanced way of learning to read and play the piano from the very beginning with both hands (without the need of printing lots of finger numbers as well). This means students learn right from start to rely instead on developing their music reading skills, making it more natural to think this way all the time. The shift to more advanced levels and AMEB Grade music is so easy for my students because the Kasschau method books make progressing to examineable levels so much easier because they're used to reading more advanced music from the very earliest stage of their learning. Highly recommend this course to all piano teachers.

Best method available
I've been using Howard Kasschau preliminary,m through to book 1, 2, 3 for my piano students for over 21 years now and it's the best preparation method for preparing student right from the start you read and play both hands together. They easily progress onto classical and modern AMEB examination piano pieces when having following this method based series to become fluent readers and pianists. Highly recommend this method for teachers of piano students.

Very good method for young beginners
I've used this method for my youngest beginners students for over 20 years. Using in conjunction with John Thompson's teaching little finger's series, it provides children with good foundational skills in playing without relying on lots of finger numbering. Playing hands together from the 3rd piece in book also gets student's thinking that way right from the start of their learning - which makes it an automatic way of reading piano music right from the earliest stage, rather than having to eventually adjust to that later on.

Composerly and basic, and my ONLY choice
This entire series, with its single-volume per level approach, is still the most comprehensive around, after 65+ years. The new way to write methods is to have 4 or 5 books at each level, and to have them all luke-warm in content. I want my students to only have ONE book to deal with at a time, not a Theory, a Performance, a Lesson, etc. ( F and F, you know what i am referring to...)Solid content throughout the series, starting right here. 15+ years teaching from this book, and I learned from this same series myself!

Thompson Clone
This is a good book to use when you want something equivalent to Thompson's Teaching Little Fingers for a second member of the family. The book proceeds loogically through middle C, C major, F major, and G major positions. There are fewer finger numbers than with other middle C methods. If you like traditional, this is a good choice, with decent, interesting music.

Teach me to Play
This teaches the middle C method. Children make significant progress and quickly with this book. I would highly recommend it.
